We remember working with our good news club at a nearby elementary school, where we had 20 to 30 kids every week. Some came from Christian families, some did not. Most had no idea what Jesus had done for them. Even the most basic Bible stories were new to them.
One such child in our after-school Good News Club, an energetic upstart by the name of Malachi, displayed resentment and pent-up anger toward everyone. He was constantly making trouble in the first few years. These little ones are at the front of God’s heart. Our job is crucial to the existence and operation of Good News Clubs in many schools that will bring them the Gospel. And if we don’t do it, who will?
Recently I interviewed with Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) for the West Virginia’s Eastern Panhandle Chapter local director position. Nicole and I, along with the local and state committees decided it's a good match. So here we are. And you get to be a part of it! So what does the local director of CEF do?
Every year for the past few years, I have been going to a Cree Indian reservation in Canada. I do this because, like everyone, the people there need Jesus. The wealth of his love for them is unseen—if we don’t go, who will?
